“The uniqueness of Aletheia Church is found in the way it combines Biblically orthodox doctrine with cultural relevance, and one way that this is established is through it’s music.
Being located in a college town, Aletheia’s main focus is creating quality music that will lead college students to the throne of God. Of course, the band is passionate about leading all of God’s people, but still the majority of the congregation at Aletheia Church is made up of college students.
With this in mind, Aletheia’s music may not be like the typical church music that many are used to. Combining electric guitars, passionate vocals and booming drums, these young musicians worship the Lord using music that young people enjoy. The live worship experience is anything but boring. While some may think they’re walking into a rock concert as they enter the church, they will soon find that they’re walking into a community of people who are passionate about lifting up the name of Jesus Christ, and making Him famous in their lives.
The average age of the members of the band is about 21. Aletheia strives to use this fact as a tool for influencing people their own age and younger. They love playing events for youth ministries, collegiate ministries, and anything else where they’ll be able to share the songs that the Lord has given to them.
Cameron Gwaltney and Chelsea Cline are the worship leaders. While their vocal blend is very tight, the best thing about having two worship leaders is the fact that it provides versatility. If playing for a women’s conference, Chelsea will lead the way while Cameron will back her up, and vice versa.
All in all, the mission of Aletheia is to lead people into the presence of God, and then completely back away and leave them there, with Him, one-on-one.”
